Yay! It finally snowed here! I woke up to snowfall in the morning. It was unbelievable! Unbelievable? Well, according to the native people here, this place is not high enough to get snowfall and they haven’t experienced it as long as they can remember. But today, it was a new day. My hope was forming into a reality over the night. Hehehe.
I experienced it fully. The snow flakes were falling with the little blue morning light in the background. And if you have read my yesterday’s post, you would know how much surprising it would have been for me. It was just wonderful, exciting, over-joyous!
So here are two pictures of a rose (just one rose in the neighborhood, just one!), one which I took yesterday with the snow up in the mountains in the background and one with the snow, well, on the rose itself!
Hope you enjoy.

I had fun clicking this one in the snow today. I almost slipped. Thank goodness, I didn’t.
Stay warm!
It’s extremely cold here now. I will definitely share more photos.
Wonderful photos of the rose in the snow. Beautiful, Nandini.
Glad you liked these, Thanks Bob. I really appreciate it.
Oh wow, Nandini. That looks like a serious snowfall! So unusual to see a rose which speaks of summer, under a blanket of snow. Seasons in transition. Thanks for sharing. Stay warm!
It was serious but just for one day. But I was content by the end of the day, as we were not prepared for it, so it would have caused more problems if it had fallen for more days.
It surely was fun and a treat for my eyes.
Thank you
Beautiful! Look forward to more. Enjoy the snow but take care.
Thank you, and yes I was careful
Love the contrast of the two images. Not sure how many degrees the temp dropped but I can feel it in the second shot!
Even I don’t know the exact value, but it certainly was too too much colder.
Thank you
awesome …. mujhe bhi aana hai
To aa jao! You are welcome.
Great pics, the poor rose look so devastated, it is probably dead but the plant will survive the cold blast and flower again soon after like mines use to do when an out of season storm dropped some white stuff all over them.
How about a snow balls fight with good friends or sliding down a hill on a piece of cardboard. Small hill i mean, not mountain side.
The rose survived, and so did the plant
I will share the latest pic very soon. I was surprised too. Actually, the snow didn’t last long, the next day it rained and it got washed away, that’s why no play in the snow. But it still felt good.
Thank you!
Wonder-Full!
Thanks, Marion
Ah, what a change for the rose. Kind of sad, but beautiful.
Keep safe in that snow, and stay warm, Nandini!
Yeah, very surprising for that rose, definitely.
Thank you, Katie.
gorgeous shot—-glad you got the snow you were hoping for!
Thanks, Kate. And yes I feel wonderful and grateful.
I’m pleased the snow arrived for you! The rose does look rather weather-beaten now but the plant will revive
Yes it will. Thanks for your kind words, Marion. I really appreciate them

Those images are really amazing. I’m sure most of us have never seen a rose in the snow. It’s a very beautiful bloom at that – thanks for sharing
Nice seeing the mountains in the background too.
Yes, that’s a strange yet beautiful pair- snow & rose. I have shared more mountain pictures today and will do more. Thanks, Victoria. Glad you liked these.

Thank you so much
Hurray! The snow came today
Glad you didn’t slip and that you’re staying warm. Lovely to see the snow on the red roe, a beautiful contrast. Happy snow day, Nandini
I did say “hurray” for uncountable times that morning. It was totally unexpected and amazing. Thanks, Mufidah. This rose was certainly a centre of attraction.
Today’s post on my blog — a poem inspired by this post of yours! http://wp.me/pL08W-hC
Wonderful! I love the Himalayas!
Thanks, Cardinal!
You are so Blessed!
Yes may be I’m
Thanks, Nishanth!
Beautiful picture of the rose. I am glad you are enjoying the snow. It get cold here but never snows, Useless winters. i wish i would get to see snow sometime soon… Miss it, well have seen it only once…
Yes even I think snow-less winters are no fun. Perhaps, the entire North India should get snow for at least a day. Hehe.
Hope you get to see it soon. Here, it’s sunny again.
so cool to see the snow!
Thanks, Joshi!
Yippee it snowed!!! Wonderful photos Nandini, I really like the before and after!
Yay, yippie! Thanks, David for your cheerful comment.
Thanks so much!
Glory be! Lovely images, but I am jealous. Here we should have snow and don’t. There you shouldn’t have snow and do. Isn’t it magical?
Yes, totally magical. The magic stayed for the whole one day and then it left for good.
Thanks, Linda. Hope you get some snow too.
That’s an amazing pic specially the second one. Seems like Kashmir and imagine the coincidence, a day before you clicked it and now with snow on it…
Yesh, may be coincidence or “magic”? Hehe.
It certainly was great. Thanks, Lee. And Kashmir is the best
I see
hahaha

Don’t know much about snow and winter, but I think I am seeing the picture of a snow-covered flower for the first time. Creates a special mood, Nandini! Brilliant!
Really?
Glad that it was my blog where you saw it first.
Thanks, Bindu John for you kind words.
