I took these shots on the first day of 2012. I went with my family and friends for a picnic in the wild up on the mountain. What a fun day it was! The mountains around me have a lot to offer if one can see it.
Curry leaves (kadi patta) in the wild -

I don’t know what these are but they were totally fascinating. As if someone opened the two petals and stole something
What do you think?

Nature’s symmetry: it is all around us. Even us!
Man is not himself only…He is all that he sees; all that flows to him from a thousand sources…He is the land, the lift of its mountain lines, the reach of its valleys. -Mary Austin
Awesome Pictures… Never leave your home without your camera is all that I can say… Really made me smile…
Yeah that’s true!! Thanks, Raman!
These are great – especially that second image!
Thanks, Chris.
Excellent… What a beautiful colour… I loved it so much dear Nandini, Thank you, with my love, nia
Thanks, Nia!
You’re right! That second one looks like some bird came along and grabbed the seed(s) out of the center.
Yeah that might have happened. I looked around to see more of these but none of the others was closed. All were the same.
Thanks, Linda!
Love that 2nd photo
Thanks, Filipe!
Great photos, especially that 2nd shot.
Thanks, Bob. The color really stands out, right!
The curry leaves are alright but the other one is a bit scary……..
Yeah scary as in a new way. But creative too. Hehe.
Yeah, orange from inside. Wonder what it is?
Yeah still wondering.
Always such lovely photos Nandini. Your acuity for natural beauty is appreciated.
Peace & grace,
~Miro

I wonder what that plant was, lovely photos especially the last one
I’m still wondering! Thanks, Gracie.
Very cool Nandini! I too wonder what kind of plant number two is. Interesting seed pod!
It was really interesting.
Thanks, David!
Looks like some sort of unusual seed pod in the second photo, but as I have observed over the last year or so, even flowers can look like those pods – nice shot.
What a lovely way to spend New Year – picnic in the mountains. Wish I was there. It would be so much cooler that this week’s heat here in Melbourne, Australia.
You get winters around June, right? This was a flowers or just leaves, I couldn’t figure out that.
Thanks, Victoria.
Wow, I like these, especially the second one. It DOES look like something was removed from inside. Great captures of nature’s symmetry.
Doesn’t it?
Fascinating and creativity of nature. Thanks, Steve for stopping by.
Symmetry is in the essence of all living things on Earth. It bring so much wonderful shapes to the inquiring eyes.

The orange leaves will grab your nose if you come too close. Stay alert!
Hehe, you know what I was actually afraid to touch them at first, thinking it might do that.
Fabulous jerr.. esp last one and it really do look as if someone stole something from inside. maybe a precious stone or something
Yeah may be a wild pearl?! Hehehe. Thanks, Tom for your imaginative words.. hahaha
