Fallen Petal

Ah! The work is keeping me busy these days. But nevertheless, I manage to take photographs. Capturing moments, isn’t it. ;)

Here is one photo from today. I was just walking when I saw this petal, which once had belonged to Royal Poinciana’s (Gulmohar, in India) red flower, resting on the concrete floor. It was still so smooth and seemed “alive” against the rough texture of the ground. I had to click! :)

Separated and fell or fell and separated, well, that’s just history!

  1. Lovely to see your observation of the simple details in nature, Nandini – nice shot. I also initially thought it looked like a Sting-ray on the sea floor.
So many people walk right on by without looking down at the ground.

  2. Beautiful!
Works pretty well in black and white.
If you have the colorful version, you could try desaturing everything but not the petal, just to see how the result would look like :D
