LIFE – Live it while you can

Story of LIFE as told by a flower

I'm just a bud and can't wait to see the outside!

I'm opening up! But can't see much yet... Are you wondering which color I would grow into?

Wow, this Earth is so beautiful and I'm a part of it. What do you think about me?

I love the blue sky and the clouds too! You are so lucky to see it everyday.

Why are you looking at me so closely? Am I that pretty? ;)

I'm enjoying the company of other flowers, they make the world more beautiful. You too must be having friends, right?

It left us for ever and taught us that death is certain for all who have come to this world...

I know I'm not pretty anymore, but I lived a beautiful life and made a difference in the world, and it doesn't matter if it was a small one! You must do the same, it feels good. Goodbye.. :)

Are you sad for me? Here is one poem about me, just for you! Do read it for it will surely cheer you up. :)

I am a kind word uttered and repeated
By the voice of Nature;
I am a star fallen from the
Blue tent upon the green carpet.
I am the daughter of the elements
With whom Winter conceived;
To whom Spring gave birth; I was
Reared in the lap of Summer and I
Slept in the bed of Autumn.
At dawn I unite with the breeze

To announce the coming of light;
At eventide I join the birds
In bidding the light farewell.
The plains are decorated with

My beautiful colors, and the air
Is scented with my fragrance.
As I embrace Slumber the eyes of

Night watch over me, and as I
Awaken I stare at the sun, which is
The only eye of the day.
I drink dew for wine, and hearken to

The voices of the birds, and dance
To the rhythmic swaying of the grass.
I am the lover’s gift; I am the wedding wreath;

I am the memory of a moment of happiness;
I am the last gift of the living to the dead;
I am a part of joy and a part of sorrow.
But I look up high to see only the light,

And never look down to see my shadow.
This is wisdom which man must learn.

  1. Beautiful blog, Nandini and I am really impressed! I hope to hear from you soon, as I am going through a very bad phase in my life at the moment; am totally confused, depressed and do not see any solution in sight. My problems seem to be mounting by the minute and I feel so burdened, I cannot function normally. Your site did cheer me up…. but life calls.

    Sorry for that but felt you were a kindred spirit. Do write if you can.

    All the best and take care.

    • Thanks for your kind words and liking my blog. I don’t know what can I do for you, but I would like to. Do write again. Hope you are fine. :)

  2. Those are gorgeous photos, nandini. I can’t help looking at them over and over again. The colors are very inviting. The effect is like a sweet candy to a kid. And yeah, it can brighten one’s day especially when he’s sad. Gibran’s poem is amazing too. Thanks for sharing!

    • Wow, so happy to know that you like them and the poem. This post is intended to do that, even for me. Bring cheers and joy in the present moment of yours, which is, life. :)

      Thanks :)

  3. Lovely flower photos and really beautiful poem. Nice to find a kindred spirit who thinks beautiful thoughts & looks at the world in such a positive way.

    Life is for living & appreciating what one has (not a ‘practise’ in the hope that a better deal will come around in the future).

    • Exactly! So so nice that you agree and appreciate life in a similar way. I especially like the last line – “Life is for living & appreciating what one has (not a ‘practise’ in the hope that a better deal will come around in the future).” Wow!

      And glad you liked the photos. Thank you :)

  4. beautiful shots…amazing words…if only all of humanity could reflect such beauty and vision, it would be a far better place to live…

    • Yeah very true. You know, it all comes down to being a good person. Many people know it but don’t act upon it; and many don’t want to, and some are there who don’t even know it. Sad fact. There are actually too too many people.

      Thank you for visiting my blog. Glad you liked the pictures and the post. :)

  5.     • Hi Kris.

      It was really nice to find your blog too and spend sometime there. I’m glad that you visited mine and said all those generous words. I’m grateful. Thank you so much. Have a great time ahead. :)

  6. Your photographs are stunning and Khalil Gibran is one of my favorite authors of all time. I especially love the line he wrote on ‘children’ from his book “The Prophet” . . . “Life goes not backwards, nor tarries with yesterday” which also fits your theme here. We should all take a lesson from the flowers, that are so short lived, but so well remembered for their beauty. Excellent post.

  7. Dear Nandini,
    its really motivating for me to read your posts.thank you for the frozen thoughts it is one book which i wanted to keep but the place where i live i wont get it.keep spreading the life to others.
