Portrait of an Irrelevant Nail

A quick post for today, I would say (I have some important work). This nail is just gathering dust & rust being on the side wall of an inauguration-stone-brick-stand. It’s totally irrelevant now. I suppose it was waiting for me to take a picture of it. Hahaha :D

Katie Johnson (her blog here) asked me to share this photo – so very sweet of her. She has some wonderful nail portraits.. you must check out. It’s for you Katie! :D

Let me know what you think of it. This is my first nail portrait. :D

Have a nice time! :)

Just for Fun – Vegetables and Colors

When it’s too cold to go outside
things inside the house stare at you,
fascinate you, insist you consistently…
Gradually, as you begin to observe
everything seems interesting to the eye
Ultimately, just for fun…you say yes. ;)

(Date of photography – 02.01.2012)

:D

Now, saying “goodbye” to you in a photography style, with the help of these three vegetable-extras and Picasa.

“Alvida” is an Urdu word which means goodbye/bye or au revoir. :)

‘Hypnotizing’ – Macro Monday

“Happiness is largely a matter of self-hypnotism. You can think yourself happy or you can think yourself miserable.”  ~ Dorothy Dix

I just want to see it…see it… over and over again. And, I don’t seem to get tired. ;)

Have a colorful week ahead! :)

P.S.

Which flower is it? Chrysanthemums, often called mums or chrysanths or Guldaudi in Hindi.

Himalayan Snowfall (Part -I)

A snowflake is one of God’s most fragile creations, but look what they can do when they stick together! :)

(Click on the images to see the large preview)

Here is my favourite of all :)

Can you spot a flying bird? Seriously, the snowfall made them go crazy (I will upload few photos on that later). I guess, it was most unexpected for them.

:)

The internet connection was lost for past few days, so couldn’t update or reply to your comments either. Now I will, hopefully. :)

A Dried Holy Basil

“Living plants are flexible. In death, they become dry and brittle. Therefore, stubborn people are disciples of death, but flexible people are disciples of life.”

                                                                       -Lao Tzu

Have a lively week ahead…! :)

A Rose is a Rose

What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet…
(William Shakespeare)

When your heart opens up tears come, it’s natural. Let it be. Scriptures say that tears of love are so precious that even angels run to collect them. Tears of love and gratitude make our life rich and fulfilled. Just be happy and keep your heart clean and soft, just like a rose.

Wish you a beautiful and lovely time ahead! :)

Joy and Sorrow

In continuation to my previous post, here is one more on Joy & Sorrow. But don’t worry this one is not on my life, but in general. :)

Joy & Sorrow

…………………………………………

Life and death, joy and sorrow, gain and loss; these dualities cannot be avoided. Learn to accept what you cannot change. [The Ramayana]

As human beings we all want to be happy and free from misery. We’ve learned the key to happiness is inner peace. The greatest obstacles are anger, attachment, fear and suspicion, while love and compassion, a sense of universal responsibility are the sources of peace and happiness. [XIV Dalai Lama]

………………………………………

Accept both – joy and sorrow,. At least try. :)

And guess what is in the photograph? Okay, here is a close up -

Happy December to you! :)

Bright and Dull Sunday

Sometimes it’s impossible to control the sadness. It just engulfs you and leaves only after taking its time. After a long time, this happened. It’s still there I guess.

:)      …or…   :(

I know, smiling is a better option.
