Believe in Yourself.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same.

- Nelson Mandela.

Give it a thought. I most certainly need to.

Good Day everyone! :)

My Mom Loves Birds, Esp. Sparrows!

We ,if we are lucky enough to have an open mind, interact with nature. Flowers, birds, or other natural wonders around us. My mom has these special friends which come over in the evening almost at the same time. These sparrows stay in the balcony near the flowers (My mom’s gardening) and search for food. They chirp until my Mom opens Continue reading

So This is True, Yet Again

I knew it and now I know it again. That one negative emotion leads to another and then there is no stopping until you deny them to enter in your mind. Here in my case, the negative emotion is “irritation”. I guess, I would have rather sung a song instead of listening to irritating words.

Anyways, I should not talk about it much.

Have a nice time. And here is the smile :)

A Dream Come True!

Wonderful.
Miraculous.
Strained.
Sensational.
Touching.
Emotional.
Memorable.
Historic.
Unpredictable.

OK now I’m running out of words. Our World Cup 2011 win was simply BRILLIANT! Any more words which can capture the whole feeling? :D

Hard work always pays off. So much to learn, so much to do.
It just FEELS SO GREAT! To Sachin… CHEERS! Wah Wah!! :D

P.S. I literally prayed on each ball when India was batting. But I never lost my faith. I just kept asking God- “So you are not gonna make this an easy win, haan?”

To Afridi, with Love [by Maheen Sadiq]

I came across this article (which is actually a letter) today on Facebook via a friend (J.J.) of mine. I found it really touching. Such lovely words. It really is worth sharing.

To Afridi, with Love ~ by Maheen Sadiq

There’s a lot to be said about the cricket tournament, especially our match against India. And it has a lot more to do with Misbah-ul-Haq and Umar Gul’s bad luck, and Sachin Tendulkar’s good fortune.

Cricket speaks to our nation in a way our government never has.

And Shahid Afridi addressed the nation in a way our president never has – unselfish, genuine, modest. So when Afridi apologized to Pakistan, millions listened and were humbled by the gesture. Our eyes filled with tears and our hearts with love and strange kind of sorrow. Shahid Afridi, you need not apologize to the nation. We are proud of you and our entire cricket team! You didn’t bring back the cup, but any excitement, any happiness, any hope that Pakistanis have felt in the past few months is because of your brilliance. We’ve been hearing a lot of “Pakistan needs something to celebrate,” but Continue reading

They All Said The Same

“It is a man’s own mind, not his enemy or foe that lures him to evil ways.” {Gautam Buddha}

“Not to have control over the senses is like sailing in a rudderless ship that is bound to break into pieces on coming in contact with the very first rock.” {M K Gandhi}

“The highest possible stage in moral culture is when we recognize that we ought to control our thoughts.” {Charles Darwin}

“One gradually attains tranquility of mind by keeping the mind fully absorbed in the Self by means of a well-trained intellect, and thinking of nothing else.” {Bhagavad Gita 6:25}

The month of colorful March is over. And here comes April. Have nice time everyone. May you all achieve what you want to. And may God grant you peace and love.

:)

What’s Everyone Talking About? Cricket Obviously.

Cricket, that’s what is in everybody’s mind (most of them, if not all). After all it is India vs Pakistan!! It is the semi-final match which is tomorrow (30.03.2011) at Mohali PCA Stadium, Punjab. A dream match for both the nations. It’s in my mind too. Everyday there is headline in the NEWS related to this match. Also, lot many are coming from local sources too. Here are some of the few-

1. The Prime Ministers of the both nations will be coming to watch it. Wah, that’s the spirit.

2. Around, 1500 policemen in and around the Taj Hotel, Chandigarh where both the teams are staying. Too many right?

3. Somebody told me that it’s National holiday in Pakistan on the match-Day.

4. One headline says- India vs Pak – Adrenaline vs Testesterone.

5. Employees are deciding what excuses to make to their boss so that they can watch it LIVE. Well, I’m just not going after the lunch. No excuses. It’s of course the match! :D

6. Almost every third FB status is about this match. Didn’t check the Twitter though.

7. And also my today’s post is about it too.

8. Special non-stop train to Chandigarh for the match. Extra flights too!

9. Not sure but is it true- Bharat Bandh? ;)

Now, this is truly Cricket Mania. And it’s more because it’s against Pakistan. Everyone is dreaming that their nation’s team should go to the final. And so am I. India, go and grab the Cup! Yeah I am already into the final!

:D

For Me, Once, Earth was Like This

When I was a kid (may be just 4-5-6 years old, don’t remember clearly) and I used to look up at the sky for an airplane, the first image along with a question which used to pop into my head was this – How is this airplane (in Hindi: हवाई जहाज) gonna go up and tear up this envelope around us which keeps the air inside? Of course I was too small then to stress more on it or even better clear this doubt with someone. [Aah, who cares, let's play now!] I wasn’t a question-type kid that time I think. Seriously, I don’t know why I still remember this image and the question which used to crop up in my mind. I mean I still have that picture in my head!

But now I just laugh about it. Obviously I must have had got my questions answered some time after that. My parents must have had a good laugh then; don’t remember the asking part also.

This sketch I just drew which would help to clear your question too (What’s she talking about?) :

Yeah, that was me imagining :D

Honestly, I had that picture for quite a while I guess. Thank God, I didn’t hold to it that long. Hehehe… :D

Also, I used to get confused when observing some river (only which had lots of big stones obstructing its way). Well the confusion: Which way is it flowing? [That way...no wait...this way...No... Oh. Dad!!!] Stupid right. :)

P.S. One of the things which fascinates me most now? The Universe!
